Coached by: Petey Reynolds

Coach Reynolds first met this group when he coached for NV Stars and they started up a 10U Team with that organization. Once he saw those kids at tryouts he knew this was a special group. He had a combination of everything you need on the baseball field from speed, to power, to base hits, and especially defense mindset. Once they formed this team they started winter workouts and that was where he knew they were special from the dedication and determination to get better through winter conditioning.

When they started at 10U they were sanctioned AA and competed and played up in many AAA tournaments, winning a few but the biggest aspect was competing. They ended the last tournament of the year with a World Series Championship in Panama Florida.

They finished that season 18-5-1

Coach Reynolds took a lot of notes throughout the year on what to work on in winter workouts going forward with this group. Come to Fall going into 11U they struggled badly winning only 8 games. Winter workouts came along and coach Reynolds challenged the boys and set goals for this group. Come spring they looked like a completely different team. They were focused and all about achieving the goals the kids set. Going into 11U they sanctioned AA but played up in AAA/ open all year.

  • Played in the USSSA Barrel Head open tournament and won that, bumping us from AA to AAA.
  • The following weekend played in the USSSA state tournament and won that and got bumped from AAA to Major.
  • 2 weeks later, played in Panama Florida and played in the World Series Tournament and Finished Runners up by losing 1-0 in the bottom of the 6th

Finished up 11U season as ranked #1 team in state of KY and the only Major team in KY finished the season with a 49-9

Going into 13U fall they had a different mindset on their approach. Coach Reynolds wanted to focus more towards basic baseball. Going into fall tournaments they played in 5 tournaments winning 2, 2 runner ups and 1 top 5 finish in all open tournaments. Going 19-4 in the fall.

The coach's biggest coaching aspect is family. This team is brothers and that is what makes the team. "You have to trust each one on and off the field", stated Coach Reynolds. "We have 3 catchers, BJ Napier, Levi Hamon and Aaron Aguilar. These guys can hit for power and average". Canes Premier rosters 13 guys and 8 of them can play the outfield. His best lineup in the outfield would have to be Landen Walters, Tanner Ross and Andrew Haye. They have thrown out a lot of kids from the outfield at first base by playing fast. The infield consists of Harrison Stephens , Parker Covington, Nathan McKinney , Aslam Ismail, Cam King, which is a completely insane infield with their quick hands and quick releasing of the baseball on double plays and by playing smart baseball.

To be ranked and noticed in the nation has been a goal for these kids since the age of 10 and they have met but are by no means satisfied. They have put together a very competitive and challenging schedule for these boys in order to push them. The April Tournaments are local as all his kids will still be in High School and Middle School Baseball Season so he wanted to keep the kids playing and to keep the chemistry going.

Coach Reynolds, along with assistant coach JR Stephens, has the team do some local charity work. Every year they serve a thanksgiving dinner for the homeless, and at Christmas time they provide Christmas gifts for children in the hospital. They go to Camp Nelson which is a cemetery for Veterans and place flags on sites during 4th of July weekend.
