Carolina Rockies 9U Black enters their spring 9U season featuring a record of 66-14 (90-15 inclusive of 8U seasons), playing a split 9U and 10U schedule. The top ranked 9U team in NC, features a very talented roster with lots of big game experience against some of the best 9U and 10U teams in the Southeast. The Rockies roster features 12 of the best players in the Central part of North Carolina, with a great balance of power and speed throughout their lineup. 8 of the 12 players on the roster have seen meaningful time on the mound this year.

On the mound, the Rockies are led by ace Beckett McFetridge. The talented righty has great velocity and gives the Rockies a chance against anybody. Joining McFetridge in the primary rotation are starters Jase Adams, Ben Crumpler and Tank Bost. The trio or righties, McFetridge, Crumpler and Adams, are all traditional plus arms with the ability to throw multiple pitches for strikes. Tank Bost anchors the tail end of the rotation, and is a tough assignment for most lineups with a plus arm, and lots of movement from the left side. Primary relievers include Kade Nichols, Easton Rodriguez, and Ben Couts, with Nichols and Couts throwing high volume strikes, and Rodriguez providing high velocity in the bullpen. Grayson McClure and Carter Parnell have also shown an ability to come in and get outs when called upon. The continued development of depth on the mound will be a key factor in the Rockies continued success this spring.

At the plate, the Rockies have the ability to be one of the more impressive offensive teams you will see at this age, in the country. Led by Kade Nichols, the Rockies feature a lineup that has 10 players that bat over .400. The top of the lineup features speedsters Ben Crumpler, and Beckett McFetridge. Middle of the lineup is led by Kade Nichols, Jase Adams and Easton Rodriguez, all who have potential to run the ball out of the yard. Additional pop in the lineup is provided by Ben Couts, and Tank Bost, supported by key contributors that include Finley Peacock, Grayson McClure, Carter Parnell, Waylen Brooks and Brody Bowman, who are all plus runners on the base paths.

Defensively, the Rockies are loaded with players that can play multiple positions, giving the team much needed flexibility that can pay dividends over the course of a weekend, and in longer tournament settings. The talented catching trio of Kade Nichols, Carter Parnell and Ben Crumpler all log solid innings behind the plate, and do a great job in supporting the pitching staff. In the infield, Beckett McFetridge anchors the shortstop position, along with Tank Bost at first base. Jase Adams, Kade Nichols, and Easton Rodriguez all spend significant time on the corner infield. Ben Crumpler, Ben Couts, and Grayson McClure all play meaningful innings at second base, giving the Rockies a solid middle infield group. The outfield is anchored by Finley Peacock, with speedsters Waylen Brooks, and Brody Bowman seeing significant time. Kade Nichols, Ben Crumpler and Easton Rodriguez also spend time in the outfield and are as good as anybody.
